Registration will be from 5.30pm and play will commence promptly at 6pm
It is a requirement that all competitors wear suitable clothing and non marking indoor footwear. Equipment including clothing, footwear and rackets can be purchased and rackets can be hired at Rackets Plus the specialist badminton shop situated within the centre which will be open during the competition.
Basic Rules and other information for the tournament:
Each match shall be won by the side which first scores 21 points. No setting will be permitted.
Rally point scoring will be used i.e the team winning the rally continues to serve. Games will be scored without umpires but in case of difficulty an umpire can be requested.
The Referee in charge of the tournament will be introduced at the start of the competition and will have the last say in any dispute.
It is intended that each pair will have a minimum of 3 matches. The initial stages will be in round robin groups the winner of each will go through to a knockout stage.
Refreshments will be provided as part of your entry and a licensed bar and other light refreshments will also be available
Parking will be available at the centre and overflow parking will be in the adjacent school car parks.

Open to all abilities and to keep the event interesting there will be a draw to pair you up with another entrant in a mixed (where possible) doubles format... In addition to the doubles format there will be an opportunity to challenge a celebrity or international standard player.
